Our Design/Build Approach
As a prospective client, you might come to us with a rough idea of what you are hoping to achieve in a construction project. You may also have expectations for cost and time frame.
Our first step is to understand your goals and objectives. As we proceed with the process, several alternative solutions will emerge. Should you choose to work with us, we will then start the planning phase.
Planning and defining your project is extremely important. Careful planning will save you time and money. During this phase we will help you decide on the big picture and answer some important questions: What do you hope to achieve? What will your home look like when we’re done? Finally, what are the finishing details that will give your home a polished look and feel?
Once you decide to go forward we will develop a more detailed cost estimate and timeframe. This will be in the form of a draft proposal. The draft will contain information to help you make choices on scope and direction of your project.

After the scope is defined, we will produce a formal proposal. Our formal proposal will often include detail drawings, photos, a list of allowances, a list of what is included as well as what is not included, a timetable of events or milestones, and a payment schedule.
Once you approve the formal proposal, we will launch the construction phase of the project. Now it’s time to turn vision into reality!
During the construction phase you will be intimately involved with the selection of materials, appliances, fixtures, colors, and a variety of other important finishing details. We will offer as much help as you are willing to accept to simplify these choices for you.
You may also authorize change orders should you decide to alter the plan in a substantial way. Again, we will help you make these decisions.
We will stay in regular contact with you along the way to verify your choices, show you results at the end of each construction milestone, and to get your feedback and approval.
